Serious question: should there be a ship's cat?

We already have some hardened old sea dogs in the crew.  (arrr arrr  oo-arrr noises stage left)

Should we also have a tough, hard bitten cat to keep invading rodents under control??

Fantastic!!  It looks like I've been promoted to Ship's Cat.  There can be few higher honours aboard this here ship. arrr arrr mrowrrrrr!!    ;D
