Propagation prediction programs
« on: August 24, 2014, 21:50:03 UTC »
I used W6EL's progation prediction program for many years and found it a great bit of software. However it hasn't been updated for years and will not run under any OS later than XP, so having migrated to Win 8.1, I found myself with no decent prediction program.
I've spent ages trawling the internet but haven't found anything nearly as good as W6EL's.
The best I've found so far, and it is pretty good is VOACAP online, as the name suggests it runs online. This does have the advantage of not taking space on your HDD but you need to have an internet connection to use it which isn't always posssible when out /P.
For anyone looking for an easy to use propagation program VOACAP online is worth a look.

You can see predictions for a range of power levels and antennas and it's very easy to use and uses the latest solar data.

I'd be very interested to hear of any other prediction software club members are using.
