Welcome to the Club / Hello. Greetings from Mississippi
« Last post by AF5XB on August 14, 2022, 11:55:43 UTC »

Hello All.  New to QRP and am looking forward to making contacts with QRP.  My name is Roy, AF5XB.
I live in Brandon, Mississippi, just East of Jackson, Mississippi.

I need to find frequencies that this group uses and times that most are on the air.

My contact info is good on QRZ.  If you would like to schedule a time for a QSO, send me a text or email.

Antennas / Doublet antenna
« Last post by SV1GRN on July 14, 2022, 13:01:56 UTC »
Just one antenna here, an 2 X 11m doublet with 450 ohm ladderline. In the of it there is an antenna tuner made by SV1NL. Between tuner and coax a choke balun. Just an antenna and a t/x, I operate mainly qrp 5W through last 6 years about, this configuration gives me a lot of fun and dx communications, even dxpeditions. 73

QRP / the first national QRP week-end.
« Last post by F5MPN on June 03, 2022, 00:30:53 UTC »
From June 11th at 08:00 UTC to June 12th at 18:00 UTC, come in large numbers to participate in the first national QRP week-end.

The spirit of this new activity is the opportunity for the QRP community to have a weekend dedicated for this kind of trafic on all HF bands from 160 to 10m, all modes (CW, Voice, MGM) using mobile or fixed station from the moment you take pleasure. So, there will be no first, no last and no prizes to be won.

In order to make the QRP activity, and this weekend in particular, known to as many people as possible, we would like to receive from the participants a small report reflecting their activity. Just a few lines to tell us about your best contact or exchange, a funny, incongruous, picturesque, atypical situation, etc. A brief description of the station (transmitter, receiver, antenna, power, …) will be appreciated.

The nice meetings and our efforts to be active with a maximum number of QRP stations should help making this weekend a lively one.

To send your reports : intlqrpwe@gmail.com

Congratulations on gaining your Foundation ticket Rob! With all those Welsh mountains you should think about becoming involved with SOTA.

A quick intro .... I just recently passed my Foundation license and would like to learn more about QRP.
I live in a scenic part of Wales - with plenty of hills to climb.  I can't wait to get the radio out and start making some QSO (s).

Hi All, ZL2OZ Wayne came back. I operate genuine QRP ! That is: 5W or less. I operate a QRPver 1V.3 from the QRP team in the Ukraine. I mainly operate Portable when in the mountains or bush of New Zealand. Tx 3W 80meters only. Favourite antenna is an EFHW. Usual Op frequency when I'm out portable is 3.717 MHz.
Hope to catch up with other members.
