Title: ARRL & Band Plans
Post by: GM0LVI on February 19, 2014, 13:27:26 UTC
Just put out a few calls on 18.086 - center of QRP activity and suddently mayhem broke out!
W1AW/4 had come up on 18.084 working split QSX up so callers were just about slap in the centre of QRP activity.
Makes me wonder just how well informed the ARRL members and W1AW/n operators are about band plans, or maybe some just don't care.

Hello,

Almost everybody are informed of the band plan gentleman's agreement, but do not care at all,
and they do not listen carefully before coming on the QRG.

I still see on some lists that the QRP frequency was 18,096, and somewhere else it is now 18,086
did I missed something ?

It is the same here, not long ago, about a year or so back, the digital users where all around 7,070 up to 7,100 or so, now there are around the QRP frequencies between 7,030/7,045 MHz.

The problem worsen, as less and less people take care to listen carefully.

I have nothing against the split operation, but it should be only on the bands wider than those Warc bands.

Anyway, we will try to live with that  ;D
