Here's a very good article about solar activity and propagation with a QRP slant by NA5N. Dates back to 2005 but the science hasn't changed.If you want to know your A from your K and why 10 Mhz might be significant for QRPers then this is good bedtime reading
It's certainly the most understandable but comprehensive explanation I've read.
