Transceivers / transmitter and separate receiver
« Last post by ac9xh on February 13, 2022, 03:30:32 UTC »
Thinking about going with a separate receiver and separate transmitter setup for my Qrp stations.
thinking the sudden transmitter and receiver combo, from the uk,
thinking about the easy receiver and transmitter combo from qrpkits,
and the sudden receir and transmitter built in 73 magazine in the 80s,

also thinking about having a regen receiver also.
Just some ideas to try to expand on my station capabilites QRP wise without buying a new radio that costs more than my used truck.I bought it for $300 by the way.Just needed some new brake lines and i put them on myself.
on a tight budget for some time .\
forgot, organic transceiver at kits and parts.

so if anyone here has one to get rid of let me know. I have several articles on mods for both these rigs

Builder's Corner / Re: Tarnished Silver as a Crystal Radio Detector

i have used gilette shaving blades, lead melted with aluminum, and also some iron.
not all gave good performances but all were able to perform as a PN junction for rectification, detection.

depends on your ground and the quality of your crystal headphones.

Builder's Corner / Re: Where to find cases for kits
« Last post by ac9xh on February 13, 2022, 01:03:02 UTC »
hey everyone,
I usually use tin cans ,tuna cans, canned chicken, for most of my cases for the qrp rigs. they are free, durable and strong.also walmart has plastic containers for food and what not. great for see thru project cases
