I have a FT817 using for QRP dx SSB have to get my CW up to speed a bit of night training on this and will opertaing CW shortly.
Live in New Zealand  by Lake Taupo the big lake you can see in the middle of the Noth Island on the internet, RF71XC. or QRZ.com.
Great place to live and play on the lake.

Welcome, Michael. I'm new here as well, and operate my 817nd ssb. Learning cw, but it will be awhile.

Hi OM, I just joined the club; I work with a ft817 (cw and ssb), with homebrew minituner and attenuator into a longwire. Best result sofar: ZX2B with 100mW SSB into 1/2 wave vertical for 15 meterband.
Have been living in the far North (Kaitaia) for a year with the callsign ZL/PH4U (yes I'm a Dutchie), and am now living in Germany (DC2DC). Hope to work you oneday.
