Hello from Chris, VE2VAE ( Canada )
« on: April 28, 2014, 14:24:35 UTC »
Hello to all QRP Club members, I am new to this forum.

My name is Chris. I live in the Montreal area, in Canada, in the province of Quebec.

I am 50 years old, and only licensed since 2011.

I like CW and QRP. I am still slow at decoding CW (about 5 to 7 words by minute).

I am using a small Yeasu FT-817nd transceiver.
I also built a transceiver in kit (Sierra from Wilderness Radio (ex. NorCal) ).
And I also acquired a TenTec Century 22 that had the 2 drivers and pre-drivers blown. I ordered new ones, and need to put them back to replace the others.

My antenna is homebrewed. The mast is made with PVC conduit sections, up to 40 feet (13 meters high), and supports two inverted-vees (on is a quarter-wave on 40 meters, the other one quarter-wave on 12 meters). They are both fed with the same ladder-line. I put them perpendicular to each other. So, with a tuner (transmatch) this gives me an effective multiband antenna with very low loss.

For more info and to see some picture of the shack, antenna, and QTH, visit my page ont QRZ.

Thanks, and see you on the air, 73.
