Azimuthal Map...
« on: February 21, 2014, 21:49:34 UTC »
Hello all,

Here is an easy way to make yourself a nice azimuthal map centered on your exact QTH, and this way
you can see which countries are all around you.

You can also make multiple azimuthal map with various distances, you wish, and keep it in a folder for future references.

 http://ns6t.net/azimuth/azimuth.html

Here I did  some samples centered on my QTH. The first one is for a discance of 5000 KM,
I can barely reach the British Isles!! So I need more distance to be able to work further, around the world.

You can see how effective my antennas should be, to carry my peanut whistle where I want. Oh I also need some good propagation too.  ;D  if you compare your QTH with mine, try it, you will like it.-

Have fun with this one.

Thanks Michel - a handy bit of mapping.

According to my logging software which certainly isn't nearly as accurate as using the map, the distance beween you and I is 4976km/3100 miles. Using the data on QRZ based on our locator squares the distance is 4622 km / 2872 miles. We dit dit  though! ;D
