Title: Tarnished Silver as a Crystal Radio Detector
Post by: vu2nan on August 19, 2019, 16:05:36 UTC
A fully tarnished, shiny black silver artefact was tried out as a detector in place of the germanium transistor in my series-tuned, shunt-fed crystal radio.

i have used gilette shaving blades, lead melted with aluminum, and also some iron.
not all gave good performances but all were able to perform as a PN junction for rectification, detection.

depends on your ground and the quality of your crystal headphones.
